About Us

“For us to achieve democracy, we will have to establish a network of people – a network of Burmese people, a network of people of the world. Everyone must be involved” – Aung San Suu Kyi

The U.S. Campaign for Burma (USCB) was established to help build and channel political will for freedom in Burma. Since our founding in 2003, USCB’s work has delivered tangible results for the people of Burma. USCB’s grassroots members have been the driving force in the United States for mobilizing political pressure for democracy and human rights in Burma. We are the only U.S. based advocacy organization devoted full-time to human rights, freedom, and democracy in Burma. Around the country and the globe, we are a recognized leader of the Free Burma movement. Our partners include celebrities, musicians, global leaders, policymakers, and our 70,000+ grassroots members across the country. Our work has been featured in more than 10,000 news articles including the New York Times, CNN, BBC, Foreign Policy, and the Washington Post. Our grassroots members play a critical role in building and sustaining our relationships with elected officials, local media, and communities across the country.
